During Workshop days–Fridays when discussing data collection or analysis methods–students will get a mini group presentation at the end of the class. During the class meeting the group will devise a use case for the method we discussed during the week as it relates to their specific domain. During the presentation, the groups should do the following:
- Describe the question from their domain the method can answer.
- Describe how they will implement the method.
- Describe the type of data that will be used.
- Describe any struggles they foresee with the method.
- Most importantly, describe how their domain will benefit from the method.
This should not be a long presentation (and a PowerPoint is not necessary). The goal is to get students thinking about how the methods we discuss in class can be applied to their own domain and to demonstrate an understanding of the method. 3-4 minutes should be sufficient.
